Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed expresses gratitude to Africans over peaceful, successful conclusion of AU Summit

Addis Ababa, February 6, 2022 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has expressed gratitude to Africans for their contribution to the peaceful and successful conclusion of the 35th AU Summit.

The 35th Summit of the Assembly of Heads of Government and State of the African Union has been completed peacefully and successfully in a way to strengthen fraternity and partnership among Africans, the Prime Minister said, expressing gratitude to the Africans who decided to hold the session in Addis Ababa contributed to its successful conclusion”

“A friend in need is a friend indeed. your support came when Ethiopia needed it most,” the Prime Minister underlined.

“It is not only the rivers and the land they share that make Africans one. The common historical phenomenon themselves unite Africans more than their rivers and the land they share.  Our destiny is inextricably linked in many aspects for we share the same challenge. We also share the same future. The friendship between Africans is not based on benefit rather it is embedded in true fraternity. We have to strive together for an African Solution to African Problems,” the Prime Minister underlined.

The Premier expressed gratitude to all Africans for standing with Ethiopia in its trying times. 

He said that the City Administration and residents of Addis Ababa, the hotels and other service providers have contributed to the successfulness of the Assembly based on the longstanding culture of hospitality among Ethiopians. 

The Premier also expressed the staff and officials of the African Union for their unreserved commitment and services to the participants.
