Addis Ababa, February 16, 2024 (FBC) – Leaders of various African and other countries continue entering Addis Ababa ahead of the 37th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union.
Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, the President of Somalia, has landed in Addis Ababa today to attend the continental summit. He was received by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Ahmed Shide.
Umaro Sissoco Embaló President of Guinea-Bissau arrives in Addis Ababa for AU Summit and was welcomed by Gedeon Timotiwos, Minister of Justice of Ethiopia.
Similarly, Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, President of Mauritania, arrives at Bole International Airport for AU Summit and received by Ergoge Tesfaye, Minister of Women and Social Affairs.
Other arrivals include President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa, President of Angola João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, Prime Minister of Lesotho Sam Matekane, President of the Republic of the Congo, Denis Sassou Nguesso, Prime Minister of Mauritius, Pravind Kumar Jugnauth Yadav, and Vice President of Uganda Jessica Alupo.
It is known that the president of Rwanda, Paul Kagame and the president of Cabo Verde, José Maria Pereira Neves are also the other leaders who arrived this morning in the Ethiopian capital to attend the AU Summit. Both leaders were welcomed at Bole International Airport by Minister of Tourism, Nasisie Chali.
