President Tshisekedi says DRC aims to benefit from Ethiopia’s experience in various fields

Addis Ababa, November 8, 2024 (FBC) — The President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Félix Tshisekedi, stated that his country aims to benefit from Ethiopia’s experience in various fields.

The DRC leader revealed his country’s intent while receiving the letter of credence from Ambassador Mekuria Getachew of Ethiopia today.

On the occasion, President Félix Tshisekedi conveyed a message of congratulations to the President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Taye Atske-Selassie.

The President said Ethiopia’s position as the seat of the African Union and its role as a proponent of Pan-Africanism would strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

It was noted that Air Congo’s cooperation with Ethiopian Airlines for domestic flights starting on December 1, 2024, would enhance the ties between the two nations.

Ambassador Mekuria Getachew emphasized his commitment to elevating the diplomatic relationship between the two countries to a higher level.

He proposed forming a comprehensive partnership agreement and arranging an official visit between the two countries.

The Ambassador also noted the need to strengthen relations in agriculture, trade, and other sectors and initiate programs for beneficial exchanges.

In response, the President stated that his country aims to benefit from Ethiopia’s experience in various fields and assured that the Ambassador would receive the necessary support during his tenure.
