Addis Ababa, November 22, 2024 (FBC) – Taye Askesilassie, President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Patron of the Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS), received ERCS high officials led by its President, Abera Tola, at his office.
The ERCS team briefed President Taye on the Society’s achievements in humanitarian work, highlighting its legacy as a pioneer humanitarian organization in Ethiopia. They also discussed ongoing efforts to reform its structure and enhance its ability to serve vulnerable communities across the country.
Taye Askesilassie commended the progress made, describing ERCS as “a household name and a grassroots organization.” He pledged his full support to strengthen ERCS’s humanitarian endeavors and provided strategic guidance, emphasizing the need for financial self-reliance through improved resource mobilization.
