Addis Ababa, April 4, 2023 (FBC) – The FDRE President Sahle-Work Zewde has met and discussed her office with Hollywood’s renowned actress, producer, and director, Salma Hayek Pinault.
The famous film producer, director, activist, and actress Salma Hayek Pinault, who was on a private visit to Addis Ababa in support of Girl Effect’s work, paid a courtesy visit to President Sahle-Work Zewde.
During their meeting, they discussed her support for adolescent girls and young women in Ethiopia and the way to bridge gaps in women employment through TVET education.
A few days ago, in a reception event hosted by the U.S. Embassy in Addis Ababa, the actress also explained about the work of NGO Girl Effect and their youth program in Ethiopia, Yegna – an Ethiopian five-piece girl group, as well as her impressions of the amazing potential of Ethiopia’s women.
It is known that Salma Hayek is a Mexican-American actress, director, and producer born on September 2, 1966. Her debut role as an actor was in the Mexican soap “Teresa.” After moving to Hollywood, she became one of the first Latina actresses to have a successful film career in the U.S. around the turn of the century.
