Premier launches Roha Medical Center construction

Addis Ababa, April 10, 2021 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed along with high ranking government officials has launched construction of Roha Medical Center in the capital, Addis Ababa.

Senior government officials including the Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa, Adanech Abiebie have escorted the Prime Minister in the launching ceremony.

The state of the art medical center whose construction started is said to deliver up to date medical care services backed by latest technologies, and incorporate 5 hospitals that will have an aggregate of 1,200 beds.

“Advancing healthcare for citizens is a critical priority. The Roha Medical center mega project launch demonstrates commitment to this priority.”, the premier said.

The construction of the medical center is aimed to make Ethiopia hub of African medical tourism. Construction is to be carried out in depiction of the ancient architectural designs of Ethiopia, it is stated on the occasion.

Up on its completion, the medical center is expected to facilitate jobs for 4,200 medical professionals and 7,500 citizens from several segments of communities.
