Addis Ababa, February 24, 2020 (FBC) – Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed has called on the youth to take active part in voluntary service program.
He made the call at a National Voluntary Service Program launch event held at the African Union (AU) hall yesterday.
In his remarks, the Prime Minister shared the anchoring principle of altruism inherent in voluntary service.
He called upon the youth to fully partake in the program and consider the skills they will develop as foundation skills for life, according to office of the Prime Minister.
He cautioned youth to harness their energy for productive purposes and apply wisdom in their engagements, being selective in how time is spent and energy is expended, focusing solely on positive deeds.
A total of 116,000 youth were registered to take part in the program and to serve their community in different parts of the country.
