Addis Ababa, July 13, 2021 (FBC) – Four contending political parties operating in Somali Region have set up joint forum to facilitate favorable climate for upcoming elections to be held on September 6, 2021.
Somali Prosperity Party, Ogaden National Liberation Front Party, Freedom for Justice and Democracy Party and West Somali Democracy Party are members of the joint council.
The joint council is said to have an importance to facilitate favorable political climate that will allow parties to cooperate on mutual national interests and address disparities that might affect electoral process through disciplined mechanisms.
Parties in the forum will hold weekly consultative meetings for successfulness of election to be held in the region in the upcoming September 6, 2021. The forum is said to continue as a permanent political forum in the region.
