Addis Ababa, September 30, 2022 (FBC) – The Addis Ababa Police announced that some roads will be closed and traffic rerouting will be implemented in several parts of the city in connection with the celebration of Irreechaa festival at Hora Finfinnee in the capital.
Road closures begin on Friday with the following roads closed to traffic starting at 12:00 PM. They will remain closed until Saturday, 2022.
Accordingly, the street from Bole Airport to Meskel Square via Millennium Hall will be closed to traffic at Wolo Sefer Square.
The road from Megenagna to Meskel Square will be closed at 22 Roundabout. The road from 4 Killo to Meskel Square via Foreign Affairs Ministry will be closed at Friendship Square.
The Highway from Piassa to Meskel Square through the Churchill Avenue will be closed at Tewodros Square.
The roads: from Tor Hayloch to Meskel Square via Legehar, from Jemo Tinbaho Monopol to African Union Hall via Mexico, from Kera to Mexico, and the new road from Kera to Legehar via Kirkos will be closed to traffic.
Streets from Saris to Meskel Square via Gotera will be shut down at Gotera Intercept. The highway from Bole to St. Urael Church will be closed at Atlas Hotel.
And, the road from Aware to Kazanchis via Women Square, and rom Lideta Health Ministry via Geja locality will be closed at Feresegna Police area. The road from Merkato to Amistegna via Goma Kuteba will be closed at Berbere Berenda.
The road from Merkato to Goma Kuteba via Ras Theatre will be closed at Teklehaimanot Square, according to Police.
Police also announced that it is not allowed to pull over vehicles at both the right and left sides of the area where the festival will be celebrated. Residents of the city are encouraged to use 816 hotline and numbers; 01- 11 -11- 01 -11፣ 01- 11- 26- 43- 59፣ 01- 11- 01- 02- 97 for any doubts during the celebration.
