Addis Ababa, August 13, 2024 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed stated that fruit cultivation through the Green Legacy initiative is yielding impressive results, demonstrating significant progress.
In a social media message published this morning, the Prime Minister indicated that tree seedlings with edible fruits planted under his “Green Legacy” initiative have started to yield the rewards.
“Fruit cultivation through our Green Legacy efforts is yielding impressive results, demonstrating significant progress. To build on this success, it is essential that we continue to enhance our practices, invest in innovative techniques, and engage with our community to further advance our environmental and agricultural objectives,” he noted.
Since the Prime Minister introduced the Green Legacy Initiative back in 2019, Ethiopia has managed to plant tens of billions of trees across the nation, increasing Ethiopia’s forest coverage from an alarming 17.20% to 23.60% in five years.
