Addis Ababa, June 6, 2020 (FBC) -Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed and First Lady Zinash Tayachew, together with their family, planted avocado seedlings in their compound this morning.
The planting of the seedlings is part of the Green Legacy season, which was officially launched yesterday June 5, 2020.
This year’s Green Legacy targets planting of 5 billion seedlings amidst the COVID19 pandemic.
The First family called upon all Ethiopians to plant their print at the individual and family level, adhering strictly to physical distancing and COVID19 preventive measures.
While Ethiopia aims to exceed the 2019 target by a billion more trees to be planted in this rainy season, citizens are asked to plant at the individual and household level by wearing masks and maintaining physical distance.
“If everyone of us commit to planting our print over the course of this year’s rainy season, we can demonstrate that Ethiopia can overcome the pandemic and also meet our productivity goals,” said office of the Prime Minister.
