Addis Ababa, February 20, 2020 (FBC) –Prime Minister Dr Abiy Ahmed is currently holding discussion with members of the national reconciliation commission.
During the meeting, the Commission, which was established a year ago, provided a briefing to the Prime Minister on its activities over the past one year.
Among the activities undertaken by the Commission include drawing lesson from inside and outside the country regarding transitional justice.
The Commission had also carried out awareness raising campaign and consultations with Chief Administrators and Cabinets of all regional states except Somali and Afar.
The Commission further said that it is drafting a three-year strategic plan and regulations to fill the gaps in its establishment.
After reviewing the key milestones presented by representatives of the commission, the Prime Minister provided direction in how to further strengthen their activities by focusing on the capacity and potential of the commission to execute key activities through creating goodwill.
