Addis Ababa, November 28, 2023 (FBC) – Press-Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister, Billene Seyoum, stated that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has shared Ethiopia’s immense experiences in the progress of green-energy based industrialization process in Ethiopia.
Billene said Prime Minister Abiy has attended the 20th UNIDO General Conference as guest of honor and delivered key messages regarding the achievements Ethiopia has been registering in the clean energy led industry development sector.
In his remarks, the Prime Minister highlighted Ethiopia’s significant achievements in the implementation of the macroeconomic reforms and the results gained in creating a favorable investment climate in the country, Billene noted.
The Premier stressed the need for inclusive and sustainable industrial development and provision of job opportunities for citizens to enable them play an active role in the overall development activities in their countries, according to Billene.
The Press Secretary added that Director General of UNIDO, Gerd Muller, appreciated Ethiopia’s progress in the green economy and clean energy based industrial development sphere.
The UNIDO Director General lauded the economic reforms that have been implemented in Ethiopia over the past five years under the leadership of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, according to Billene.
The UNIDO Director General also gave testimony on how Ethiopia is achieving remarkable results in wheat production so as to ensure food security.
Billene further added that the Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed had a bilateral meeting with the Chancellor of Austria, Karl Nehammer on ways of strengethening the bilateral ties between their two countries.
The two leaders explored new areas of cooperation, Billene said, adding that the Chancellor will pay a visit visit Ethiopia to identify potential areas of cooperation between Ethiopia and Austria in the future.
