PM Abiy sends Easter Holiday greetings to Ethiopian Christians

Addis Ababa, May 4, 2024 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has conveyed his heartfelt Easter Holiday greetings to all Ethiopian Christians today.

Note that Ethiopian Christians will commemorate this year’s Easter Holiday on May 5, 2024, with various religious ceremonies.

Drawing inspiration from the significance of Easter in Ethiopia, the Prime Minister emphasized that just as Jesus overcame suffering and rose again, Ethiopia too possesses the power to overcome its trials. He underscored the belief in a higher power, affirming that God provides the necessary strength and fortitude to endure and triumph.

The Prime Minister’s message resonated with the core values of Easter, which include hope, renewal, and renaissance. He urged Ethiopians to embrace these values and channel them into their collective efforts to heal fractures and build common narratives within the country. The path ahead, he cautioned, will not be easy, as those who have profited from the nation’s sufferings will not remain silent.

He reassured that these testing times are not insurmountable.

PM Abiy emphasized the need for decisive action and perseverance, aligning with the themes of sacrifice and determination associated with Good Friday.

By enduring the necessary hardships and staying true to their path, Ethiopians can shorten the period of pain and pave the way for a brighter future, he noted. “By steadfastly embracing Ethiopia’s path of truth, we will effectively alleviate the country’s pain and secure a lasting era of revival for Ethiopia.”

Furthermore, Prime Minister Abiy expressed unwavering confidence in Ethiopia’s capacity for revival. He pointed to the four-fold strength that underpins the nation’s progress: the power of God, dedicated leadership, determined people, and abundant resources. These strengths align with the principles of cleanliness and growth, guiding Ethiopians towards a positive vision for the country’s future.
