Addis Ababa, October 13, 2020 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and the visiting Eritrean President Isaias Afwerki have visited Koysha Hydroelectric dam this morning.
Koysha Hydroelectric Dam Project, located in the south west of Ethiopia, is the fourth hydropower dam being built at the Omo River.
The dam which has a capacity of generating 2,200 Megawatt power at a time has a potential to produce 6,000 Gigawatts of electricity per annum.
Koysha hydroelectric project has reached 36 pct of its completion, and is expected to serve as a better tourism destination up on its completion.
It is to be recalled that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has visited the Koysha Hydroelectric project a month ago.
