Addis Ababa, November 20, 2023 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz held fruitful discussions to bolster the relationship between Ethiopia and Germany on new spheres of cooperation, State Minister of Finance Eyob Tekalign said.
Prime Minister Abiy held discussions with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on issues of common interest, ahead of the “G20 Compact with Africa (CwA) Summit.”
The two sides have exchanged views on areas of bilateral cooperation, domestic and regional issues, according to the office of the Prime Minister.
Ethiopia and Germany enjoy close cooperation on matters of climate change, energy, education, regional peace and security.
Following the discussion, Sate Minister of Finance, Eyob Tekalign said the relationship between the two countries in multifaceted spheres has been strong for several years.
According to ENA, the German government is providing support to strengthen the technical and vocational training sector in Ethiopia and ensure the country’s effort in food security.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz had fruitful discussions to diversify their cooperation on new spheres and elevate the existing cordial relations, Eyob said.
Following this, the two sides have discussed on supporting the Home Grown Economic Reforms and on investment of green development as well as development cooperation.
The two leaders also agreed to strengthen partnership on agriculture sector as well as on multifaceted spheres, it was learnt.
