PM Abiy convenes a meeting with representatives from all zones of Oromia region

Addis Ababa, February 22, 2024 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), accompanied by Oromia Region President Shimeles Abdissa, convened a meeting with the representatives from all zones of the Oromia region to discuss current and emerging issues.

“This morning, I met with representatives from all zones of the Oromia region to discuss current and emerging issues,” the Prime Minister confirmed on his social media page.

This morning’s gathering serves as an extension of similar discussions held throughout the region over the past week by the Prosperity Party executive leadership.

According to the Office of the Prime Minister, peace, security issues, and development needs were among the topics addressed during the session. As a token of appreciation, community elders presented the Prime Minister with traditional gifts.

Recall that the Prime Minister, alongside Deputy Prime Minister Mr. Temesgen Truneh and chief administrator of Amhara region Mr. Arega Kebede, also held similar meeting with the representatives of all zones from Amhara region on Monday (February 19). That meeting is said to be the peak of a series of dialogue sessions conducted across the region on February 4, 2024.
