Addis Ababa, February 7, 2022 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed met with Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and Africa and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia M. Bogdanov, who was on a working visit to Addis Ababa, was received by the Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
In the course of the conversation they discussed a range of issues on the progressive development of traditionally friendly Russian-Ethiopian relations, with a focus on building mutually beneficial cooperation in trade, economic, humanitarian and other spheres.
The Russian side reaffirmed its principled and consistent position in support of the unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ethiopia, according to Embassy of Russia in Addis Ababa.
A confidential exchange of views on topical international issues, including the agenda of the 35th Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union being held these days in Addis Ababa, took place.
Prime Minister Abiy and Special Representative of Russia focused on strengthening foreign policy coordination in the UN and other multilateral organizations. They also reviewed practical aspects related to the preparation of the second Russia-Africa summit in 2022.
