Addis Ababa, October 11, 2020 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has paid a visit to Arsi Zone.
The premier has been accompanies by President of Oromia Regional State, Shimelis Abdisa and other high officials during the visit.
Prime Minister along with higher officials has visited progresses of cluster wheat farming practices in Dodota Woredas of Arsi Zone, Oromia Regional State.
Visit of the Prime Minister is aimed to address challenges among farmers in line with crop harvesting and market link areas, it is indicated.
During the visit, the Premier witnessed that the cluster farming practiced introduced in the area along with technologies and improved seed supplies has brought about better results.
“Dodota woreda, Arsi Zone is showing great agricultural productivity following interventions in setting up irrigation systems. The enhanced productivity is aimed at food security, import substitution, increasing export capability and creating jobs.”, Prime Minister said in a tweet.
The Prime Minister recently stated that Cluster farming practices are yielding high productivity in teff production across the country.
Ethiopia has been implementing cluster farming system and intensifying use of advanced agricultural technologies in a bid to transform the agricultural system and ensure sustainable productivity in the sector.
