Addis Ababa, December 17, 2020 (FBC) – The Commissioner of Planning and Development Commission, Dr. Fitsum Assefa held talks with World Bank Ethiopia Director Ousmane Dione on various issues.
Their discussion focused on Ethiopia’s ten year perspective plan and the areas in which the commission and the World Bank can work together.
Commissioner Dr. Fitsum explained the preparations underway and the content of the 10 year perspective plan which is recently approved by the Council of Ministers.
She elaborated that the recent plan differs from the previous ones for it involved participation of ministerial institutions, academicians, private sectors and several stakeholders.
World Bank Ethiopia Director, Ousmane Dione, to his part reaffirmed the commitment of World Bank to work in collaboration with Ethiopia in various areas.
The two discussed potential areas of cooperation including poverty reduction, information and data quality improvement, follow up and monitoring and capacity building areas.
They have also identified priority areas and agreed to develop cooperation framework ahead of the commencement of joint activities.
