Addis Ababa, November 7, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Peace Minister, Binalf Andualem, has praised the positive impacts of the ongoing youth voluntary services program in Ethiopia in building national consensus among communities.
Binalf stated that the Ministry of Peace has prepared a volunteer community service program that allowed the youth to leave their localities for another where they participated in building national consensus.
He pointed out that the summer youth volunteer service program has enabled young volunteers graduated from different universities to enjoy the benefits of working outside their regions.
Binalf also stated that the youths who were willingly recruited from different parts of the country for the voluntary services have undertaken effective works in the areas where they were engaged.
The Minister underlined that the national voluntary community service is playing a constructive role in building national unity by enhancing solidarity among the youth.
He explained that nation-building is not a one-time task but a process, calling citizens to focus on issues that promote unity and understanding rather than diversity.
“Although the youth participated in the voluntary service hail from different political, cultural and religious backgrounds, they have expressed that they stand together for the unity and prosperity of Ethiopia,”
“Therefore, we are working hard to ensure that there is active participation of the youth in the overall development activities of the country to realize the prosperous Ethiopia we want,” the Minister added.
