Addis Ababa, September 19, 2021 (FBC) -Minister of Peace Muferihat Kamil has received and held talks with a delegation led by American Congress Member Karen Bass.
The Minister elaborated on activities regarding immediate humanitarian aid relief that is being provided by the Government of Ethiopia following the unilateral ceasefire and prior to the cease-fire.
The Minister who reiterated that humanitarian services do not discriminate stated that the government of Ethiopia will continue strengthened efforts to ensure the reach of vital aid relief to those in need and that it expects all humanitarian partners to follow suit.
The Minister also said that it is mystifying how certain countries, including America, refuse to recognize the success that Ethiopia has registered while on the road of reform, despite predictions that the country will fail in many aspects.
In addition, she underlined that even though, for reasons unknown, certain countries have chosen to ignore the fact that Ethiopia is under attack by forces of destruction. The government and people of Ethiopia will not hold back the collaborative efforts in discharging their duties of defending the nation and ensuring security in the nation, She said.
Muferihat also expressed grave concerns over the failure of international humanitarian agencies in ensuring that immediate aid relief reaches those affected due to the violence waged by the TPLF terror group even though the government has gone to great lengths to facilitate requests by the aid agencies.
Based on the daily increase of numbers of people in need of humanitarian relief, the Minister has urged the selected international aid agencies to provide immediate humanitarian services, particularly in those areas that the government is not able to reach, as per the agreements they have entered in to with Ethiopia.
