Petersburg, June 18, 2022 (Sputnik) A Pakistani business delegation led by Irfan Iqbal Sheikh, president of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), met with Russian officials in St. Petersburg on Saturday to discuss transport connectivity and banking, the organizer of the visit told Sputnik.
“I have organized a visit by a delegation led by the FPCCI president. We came here to show our friendship. There are immense opportunities for trade and commerce. We lack banking between our countries, we lack vital transport links such as rail-and-road links. We are working on that,” Mohsin Sheikh, chairman of the Pakistan-Russia Business Council, said on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
Pakistani delegates have met with officials from the Russian ministry of industry and trade and other ministries at the forum and plan to continue talks in Moscow, he said.
St. Petersburg hosted the 25th edition of SPIEF, one of the world’s largest annual business get-togethers, from Wednesday to Saturday.
