Over 35,000 beneficiaries receiving services at feeding centers in the capital – Mayor

Addis Ababa, September 28, 2023 (FBC) – More than 35,000 people are receiving services at 20 feeding centers in the capital, Mayor of Addis Ababa City Administration, Adanech Abiebie, said today during the launching of the city’s latest feeding center, Tesfa Berhan Feeding Center.

Recall that Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD), alongside high-level federal and regional government officials, this morning attended the 20th Addis Ababa City Administration’s launch of the Tesfa Berhan Feeding Center where he shared a holiday meal with beneficiaries of the center.

Following the launching of the center, Mayor Adanech stated on her social media page that the feeding center was built in Gulele sub-city, an area commonly known as Kechene Medhane-Alem.

The center provides nutritious meal once a day to more than 500 the elderly and impoverished residents of the area, the Mayor said.

She thanked the Tokuma Star Business Group, which built Tesfa Berhan Feeding Center at a cost of 47 million birr, as well as Bzuayehu Tadele Foundation, that took over the center to feed the beneficiaries permanently.

The Mayor also pointed out that more than 35 thousand people are receiving services at 20 different feeding centers in the Ethiopian capital.
