Addis Ababa, September 8, 2020 (FBC) –A total of 141, 369 drivers were fined for breaking traffic rules last Ethiopia fiscal year, which ended July 7.
This was revealed by Minister of Transport, Dagmawit Moges, during an event organized today as part of the year-long road safety awareness campaign officially launched last Sunday.
On the occasion, the Minister also called on drivers and passengers to obey traffic rules and regulations so as to reduce deaths from road traffic accidents.
Road traffic fatality in Ethiopia has declined to 34% per 10,000 vehicles in the concluded fiscal year from 54% two years ago.
During the event, the Ministry donated traffic control radars for federal and regional state institutions engaged in traffic management activities.
