Addis Ababa, August 8, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopian Agricultural Businesses Corporation (EABC) announced that 11,882,117 quintals of soil fertilizer has been transported into the country so far this year.
The Corporation stated that 96.4 percent of the 13 million 975 thousand 520 quintals it bought from abroad for the 2022/23 “meher” growing season arrived at the Port of Djibouti.
Out of the 13 million 475 thousand 419 quintals of soil fertilizer that arrived at the port, 11 million 882 thousand 117 quintals of soil fertilizer has been transported into Ethiopia, EABC confirmed today.
It was announced that a ship loaded with 524 thousand 670 quintals of urea soil fertilizer docked at Djibouti port yesterday, and the last ship with an additional 500 thousand quintals of urea fertilizer is expected to arrive at the port soon.
For the current growing season, 13 million 975 thousand 520 quintals of soil fertilizers were purocured, of which 2 million 788 thousand 940 quintals of NPS, 5 million 686 thousand 580 quintals of NPS boron and 5 million 500 thousand quintals of urea, the Corporation stated.
