Ongoing reform serves as a foundation for building better digital economy

Addis Ababa, February 2, 2022 (FBC) – The Plan and Development Minister, Fitsum Assefa (PhD) discussed with a high delegation led by Michael Joseph, Chief Executive of Safaricom Kenya on acitivites being carried out by the Global Partnership for Ethiopia in the telecom sector.

During the meeting, the Minister noted that Ethiopia, based on the homegrown economic reform, has opened up the market for competent companies in order to enable users access quality services.

The ongoing reforms are serving as a basis for Ethiopia’s transition into the digital economy.

She highlighted significances in the light of various areas including job opportunities expected to be facilitated by Safaricom in Ethiopia.

Safaricom representatives, to themselves, expressed gratitude to the government of Ethiopia for giving them the opportunities to enter the market in the country.
