Addis Ababa, July 6, 2023 (FBC) – Ergogie Tesfaye, Ethiopian Minister of Women and Social Affairs, accompanied by Ambassador Tefera Derbew, visited the Henan International Joint Laboratory of Psychological Science and had a working discussion with Professor Dr. Jin Zheng, director of the laboratory.
They were briefed on the efforts made by the lab’s international team in promoting digital innovation and mental health programs in the field of social support for disadvantaged groups.
Ergogie Tesfaye expressed the hope that in the lab would further deepen cooperation with Ethiopian institutions and platforms, jointly build partner research centers, and launch aid-for-Africa projects.
Ergogie also visited the Department of Special Education of Zhengzhou Normal University, met with the disabled art troupe and children with special need from the children’s rehabilitation center, and gained in-depth understanding of the support strategies and practical models for inclusive education for vulnerable groups.
Dr. Maouch from Lebanon and Dr. Timothy from Cameroon, foreign experts under the Belt and Road Initiative, participated in the visit.
She expressed the intention to jointly promote the “China-Africa Cooperation Vision 2035” proposed by President Xi Jinping at the Ministerial Conference of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation in November 2021 to promote the “Nine Programs” in related fields.
She hopes that more high-end platforms and project results within the province can be promoted and applied in Ethiopia. The local government said it would implement the relevant cooperation as soon as possible.
