New Ambassadors take oath before President Sahle-Work Zewede

Addis Ababa, March 25, 2022 (FBC) – President Shale-Work Zewede has presided over the swearing-in ceremony of new Ethiopian ambassadors on Thursday.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Demeke Mekonnen, State Ministers of the Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Ambassdor Redwan Hussein and Ambassador Birtukan Ayano as well as Meaza Ashenafi, President of the Federal Supreme Court of Ethiopia were present at the ceremony.

Delivering remarks, President Sahle-Work stressed that the ambassadors should read the volatile geo-political environment and work diligently to safeguard the interests of their country.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, on his part, recalled and appreciated recent diplomatic triumphs further calling on the ambassadors to create allies to their country restraining themselves from stretching things to their limits.

He also highlighted the need to engage Ethiopians in the Diaspora to the affairs of their homeland and protect their rights in their countries’ of residence.
