Addis Ababa, January 21, 2021 (FBC) –The National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) is currently holding consultation with health workers, political parties and security officials on the draft election guidelines.
The consultation focused on how to reduce the impact of COVID-19 pandemic on election process, including during campaign, and ways to conduct the upcoming election peacefully.
Birtukan Mideksa, Chairperson of the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia on the occasion underscored the need to implement responsibly election code of conduct and guidelines to make the election a success.
Last month, the electoral board announced plan to hold Ethiopia’s 6th on June 5 and declare final results of the elections from 6-28 June, 2021.
According to the board, the date doesn’t include the election in Tigray regional state. The date for election in the region will be announced in the future.
