Addis Ababa, February 11, 2021 (FBC) – The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) has briefed senior leaders of political parties and the media as well on the process of the upcoming elections.
Technical experts of the different departments of the board highlighted the preparations the Board has been undertaking towards the upcoming poll.
Experts from the Board’s Operations Unit, Civic and Voter Education Unit, the Training Unit, the Political Parties Unit, and the External Relations and Gender & inclusion Unit explained the process they are going through.
Various comments and questions have been raised by the participants, and experts and Chairperson of the Board Birtukan Mideksa her deputy and Woubshet Ayele responded to the queries accordingly.
Regarding the process of candidates’ registration and their requirements, the board provided a detailed explanation complemented with visual aids and demonstrations of functionalities of the equipment that will be used in the process.
A presentation about the election’s ballot paper was also made by another international election expert.
Chairperson Birtukan elaborated that the Board will be organizing similar forums more often and will address as many questions as possible.
