Addis Ababa, May 15, 2021 (FBC) – National Electoral Board of Ethiopia (NEBE) announced that more than 36 Million Ethiopians have been registered for the upcoming general elections until May 12, 2021.
Chairperson of NEBE, Birtukan Mideksa is discussing with leader of contending political parties on achievements and challenges during the voters’ registration process.
On the occasion, the Chairperson stated that the people registered have accounted for 78.3pct of the expected number of voters.
It is to be recalled that registration has been delayed in some regions, especially in Somali and Afar, because of security concerns and other issues.
Voter registration, which took place in 11 regions and city administrations across the country ended yesterday.
