Addis Ababa, July 18, 2023 (FBC) – The Ministry of Labour and Skills of Ethiopia (MoLS) and the International Labor Organization (ILO) have signed a Letter of Agreement for implementation of a MoLS-ILO joint workplan.
It is noted that the agreement aims at promoting and advancing skills development in Ethiopia, advancing labour administration, and fostering productive employment and better migration governance.
The agreement was signed by Ethiopia’s Minister of Labour and Skills Ms. Muferihat Kamil and Alexio Musindo, Country Director of the ILO Country Office for Ethiopia, Djibouti, Sudan, South Sudan and Somalia and Special Representative to AU and ECA.
It is indicated that Ethiopia will mark 100 years of its ILO membership on 28 September 2023. It is also stated that this important milestone will be marked by a joint high-level Centenary Conference and Annual Labour Conference.
During the agreement signing, the MoLS Minister Muferihat stated that confirmed that her country will mark the ILO-Ethiopia Centenary with an array of activities this year.
