Addis Ababa, October 14, 2023 (FBC) – The Ministry of Finance and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) have reached a mutual understanding of working closely in ensuring the Agency’s support to Ethiopia remains effective.
Both sides concurred on the matter during the meeting between Ms. Semereta Sewasew, the State Minister of Finance and JICA Senior Vice President, Ms. Imoto Sachiko
The main focus of the meeting aims to buttress the existing cooperation between Ethiopia and JICA. During the meeting, both parties discussed JICA’s overall cooperation policy with Ethiopia and the ongoing challenges associated with the current situation in the country.
It is noted that JICA has been a significant long-term development partner in Ethiopia and has shown a commitment to continue strengthening its support in other areas, including the reconstruction of conflict-affected areas.
At the end of their meeting, both parties agreed to work closely together to ensure that JICA’s support in Ethiopia remains effective and beneficial to the country.
The State Minister of Finance expressed her gratitude for JICA’s continued support in Ethiopia while looking forward to working together to overcome the challenges that may arise in the future.
