Addis Ababa, October 7, 2022 (FBC) – The Ministry of Agriculture has signed an agreement with six universities to train students in short-term, first degree and masters programs in land administration stream.
The Ministry has revealed that more than 138,000 professionals are required to manage the land administration sector in the next 20 years in Ethiopia.
According to a report by ENA, the agreement aims to address the shortage of skilled manpower needed in the sector.
MoA signed the agreement with Bahr Dar, Ambo, Debre-Markos, Dilla, Hawassa and Oda-Bultum universities.
The agreement also boasts the ministry’s efforts to scale up its aquisition of skilled manpower in the sector.
State Minister of Agriculture, Prof. Iyasu Elias, said that Ethiopia needs improved agricultural land administration and utilization to realize its prosperity and ensure food security.
He stated that the land administration system allows farmers to manage the agricultural land properly and to ensure the ownership of the land according to the law.
