Addis Ababa, February 28, 2023 (FBC) – The Ministry of Planning and Development of Ethiopia (MoPD) leadership held discussions today with members of a team of technical experts from the Norwegian government on various development issues.
During the meeting, the delegation was briefed on issues pertaining to development activities in Ethiopia and the involvement of development partners.
The Norwegian delegation was also further briefed on the government’s focus to manufacturing, agriculture, digital economy, tourism and other sectors.
Advisor to the Minister of Planning and Development, Tsadkan Alemayehu, revealed that the government is seeking development partners to support the aforementioned sectors. Besides, the government is also keen on the private sector actors to participate in those sectors.
Mentioning the high potential of Ethiopia’s agricultural sector, the Advisor underscored that recent launching of wheat export demonstrates this potential.
The delegates affirmed that they will present their report to their government regarding development endeavours as well as the current state of affairs in Ethiopia.
It was indicated that the discussion was also part of the Norwegian government’s look into and respond to requests of development assistance by various countries.
