Addis Ababa, December 24, 2022 (FBC) – A National Committee consisting of members from various government institutions held discussion to successfully host the 36th African Union Heads of State Summit and the 41st Executive Council meeting.
On the consultation meeting, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Birtukan Ayano, recalled the 35th African Union Leaders’ Summit which was hosted successfully despite impacts of COVID-19 pandemic and foreign pressure on the country.
She called on every stakeholder institution to make proper preparations so that the 36th AU Heads of State Summit can be held effectively.
Considering the country’s special continental responsibility, the representatives of various institutions affirmed readiness to discharge duty to organize successful summit.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the 36th AU Summit is expected to be held from February 15 to 19, 2023.
