Addis Ababa, November 1, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga, has emphasized the need to promote his country’s comprehensive economic reforms.
The State Minister made the remark during a discussion involving the leadership and staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and affiliated institutions on the progress of the country’s 100-day reform plan and key economic performances in 2024.
On the occasion, Jafar Bedru, the Executive Director of the Institute for Foreign Affairs (IFA) presented a report on the reforms and main economic performances achieved over the past 100 days.
He said the ongoing economic reforms have contributed to sustainable economic growth, improved government revenue and investment, reduced public debt burden, strengthened competitive government development institutions, and increased foreign currency reserves.
Leading the subsequent discussion, State Minister Misganu stated that these reforms would enhance Ethiopia’s economy, aligning it more closely with regional and global economic systems.
He emphasized the need for greater public awareness of the macroeconomic reforms. Mesganu noted that Ethiopia’s economy is growing despite both global and national challenges, indicating the success of these major reform efforts.
