Addis Ababa, February 17, 2023 (FBC) – The African Capacity Building Foundation (ACBF) signed host country agreement with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia today to open a liaison office in Addis Ababa.
Ambassador Mesganu Arga, State Minister of MFA Ethiopia and Mamadou Biteye, Executive Secretary of ACBF inked the agreement.
During the deliberations, the State Minister said Ethiopia has a long established tradition of hosting the headquarters and offices of several regional and international organizations. In this regard, he noted, the Government of Ethiopia is committed to support the foundation in its endeavours.
ACBF’s success is the success of AU member states to upgrade their capacity building and executing capabilities, Mesganu told the Executive Secretary, adding that facilitating ACBF to open its liaison in Addis enhances the national capacity building initiatives of Ethiopia.
Mr. Biteye expressed his gratitude for the government of Ethiopia for facilitating the opening of the facilities in Addis Ababa that houses AU and UNECA headquarters.
He noted that the office will enhance human and institutional capacity building both in Ethiopia and all member states of the AU.
