Menschen für Menschen Foundation allocates over 1.5 bln birr for dev’t activities in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, March 26, 2025 (FMC) – The Menschen für Menschen Foundation has announced an allocation exceeding 1.5 billion birr for integrated development projects to be implemented across Ethiopia in 2025.

Menschen für Menschen Ethiopia Country Representative, Mr. Yilma Taye, stated that the organization has formulated a five-year strategic plan aimed at advancing rural development initiatives in the country.

He highlighted that over 60 percent of the allocated budget for the current fiscal year will be directed toward education and clean drinking water infrastructure. Additionally, environmental protection and sustainable land use programs will account for 11 percent of the budget, while health and human resource development programs will receive 12 percent.

Mr. Yilma further noted that the foundation has launched a new integrated rural development project in the Gofa Zone of the South Ethiopia Region this year.

Moreover, preparations are underway to initiate environmental protection and agricultural development projects in border districts of the Tigray, Amhara, and Afar regions.
