Addis Ababa, April 27, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia’s Medina Eisa has broken the women’s under-20 world record at the fourth edition of Adizero Road to Records road race in Herzogenaurach, Germany, on Saturday.
The 19 years old Medina Eisa took the back-to-back victories at Adizero, crossing the line in just 14:38. Melknat Wudu and Fotien Tesfay completed an all-Ethiopian podium by finishing 2nd and 3rd with the time of 14:40 and 14:41, respectively.
Meanwhile, Yomif Kejelcha has also won the men’s 5000m race, clocking 13:00. His compatriot Yihunie Addisu finished 2nd, clocking 13:05.
Adizero: Road to Records is an annual elite running event hosted at the global headquarters of adidas in Herzogenaurach, Germany. Established in 2021, it is usually held at the end of April across a single day.
