Malaysian investors eye investment opportunities in Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, October 15, 2017 (FBC) – Malaysian investors have expressed a strong interest in exploring investment opportunities in Ethiopia across various sectors.

During a recent working visit to Malaysia, an Ethiopian delegation engaged with local business leaders to discuss potential collaborations. The delegation highlighted Ethiopia’s attractive investment climate and the ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing foreign direct investment (FDI) and fostering a supportive environment for investors.

In response, Malaysian investors showed particular interest for sectors such as manufacturing, agro-processing, pharmaceuticals, textiles and garments, as well as mining and construction in Ethiopia.

Members of the Malaysian business community also announced plans to send a delegation to Ethiopia for a pre-investment visit, as reported by the Industrial Parks Development Corporation. Both sides agreed to work together to boost investment exchanges between their two countries.
