Addis Ababa, January 23, 2021 (FBC) -Ethiopian referee Lydia Tadesse makes history this Saturday as the first woman to referee a match of a major competition of the Confederations of African Football (CAF).

She has been chosen to referee the match between Namibia and Tanzania at the African Nations Championship (CHAN).

While Stéphanie Frappart serves as a pioneer in Europe, the lines are also moving at the level of African refereeing.

Lydia will also be assisted by female referees to make an all-female refereeing team for the game, according to Pindula News.
