Addis Ababa, May 5, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopian runners Lemi Berhanu and Bedhatu Hirpha achieved a remarkable feat by securing a double victory for Ethiopia in the 2024 Prague International Marathon. Both athletes displayed their dominance over their competitors in the men’s and women’s races, respectively.
Lemi Berhanu’s outstanding performance in the men’s race saw him cross the finish line with an impressive time of 2:08:45, leaving his competitors trailing far behind. His compatriots Hirpasa Negasa and Abayneh Degu also delivered commendable performances, securing the fifth and seventh positions, respectively.
In the women’s race, Ethiopian athlete Bedhatu Hirpa reigned supreme with an impressive time of 2:23:41, as she completed an Ethiopian double in the Czech capital.
Following closely behind Bedhatu, Kenya’s Dorcas Jepchirchir secured the second position. Notably, Ethiopian athletes clinched the third to seventh positions in the challenging competition.
