MOSCOW, May 27 (Sputnik) – The king of Bahrain and the presidents of Egypt, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates will pay an official visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping from May 28 to June 1, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Hua Chunying said on Monday.
“From May 28 to June 1, at the invitation of President Xi Jinping, Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Tunisia’s President Kais Saied, and the United Arab Emirates’ President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan will pay state visits to China and attend the opening ceremony of the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum,” Hua was quoted as saying by the foreign ministry.
On Sunday, the spokeswoman said that Xi would deliver a keynote speech at the opening ceremony of the event slated for May 30 in Beijing. The conference will be co-chaired by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Mauritania’s foreign minister, Mohamed Salem Merzoug. The forum will also be attended by Arab states’ foreign ministers and representatives as well as by Arab League chief Ahmed Aboul Gheit.
The forum is an initiative between China and the Arab League established in 2004.
