Addis Ababa, July 29, 2024 (FBC) – The National Disaster Risk Management Commission (NDRMC) has reported that a landslide in the Wonsho Woreda of the Central Sidama Zone, Sidama Regional State, has resulted in the deaths of six individuals.
In addition to the fatalities, six others sustained injuries and are receiving medical care at local hospitals. In response to the disaster, the government has mobilized a team of NDRMC officials and security personnel to the area to provide humanitarian assistance.
The Commission has also issued a warning about the possibility of similar incidents occurring in other regions and urged the community to exercise heightened caution.
