Kansas Citians, Ethiopian-Americans urge President Biden to stop pressuring Ethiopia

Addis Ababa, December 9, 2021 (FBC) Protesters including Ethiopian-Americans and friends of Ethiopia gathered outside Kansas City Area Transportation Authority where President Joe Biden spoke Wednesday afternoon.

Kansas Citians with ties to Ethiopia and Ethiopian-Americans called on President Joe Biden to reassess his misguided policy on Ethiopia.

“We say, ‘No more.’ No more intervention. The hybrid war is won. The western countries particularly the US is intervening everything in our life there,” said Henok Tekeste, of Kansas City’s Ethiopian community.

The protesters denounced Biden’s administration for backing the terrorist TPLF Group and imposing sanctions on Ethiopia. They also called urged President Biden to reassess his misguided policy on Ethiopia and stop exiting the country from AGOA.

“We wanted to say, ‘No more,’ so we can have a liberated, selected, elected democratic state,” said Tsedenia Tsfaye, of the Ethiopian community.

“Just the whole fact that he’s coming to town makes me sick,” said Randy Mansell, of Kearney.

“I watch a lot of news and just see that this country, the U.S. is so divisive right now. It’s just not a great place anymore,” said Jason Waggoner, of Liberty.
