Addis Ababa, April 15, 2024 (FBC) – The Government of Japan has provided 12 field vehicles to the Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission (ENDC) in support of ongoing activities to ensure inclusive dialogue, national consensus and cohesion in the country.
The Ambassador of Japan to Ethiopia, Shibata Hironori, handed the donation to the Chief Commissioner of ENDC, Professor Mesfin Araya.
Professor Mesfin, during the handover ceremony, stated that the Commission is working hand in hand with several national and international partners to fulfill its aspirations.
The donation will have a paramount significance in propping up commission’s field operations in regional areas. The commission is aggressively working to bring national consensus on key national issues, he added.
He expressed gratitude to the Japanese Government for its continued support to Ethiopia in multifaceted areas of cooperation.
Ambassador Shibata Hironori, for his part, reaffirmed Japan’s continued support to the commission.
Also in attendance of the handover ceremony were UNDP Ethiopia Resident Representative, Samuel Doe and representatives of various organizations.
