Addis Ababa, April 26, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopian Planning and Development Minister, Fitsum Assefa (PhD) received at her office a delegation of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) led Professor Kenichi Ohno.
The Planning and Development Minister briefed the JICA delegation on Ethiopia’s ten year perspective plan and related challenges and opportunities.
She added that the ongoing Homegrown Economic Reform has brought about promising results. Fitsum stressed need to capitalizing on homegrown wisdoms, calling for support of partner countries in implementing the three year plan to be unveiled soon.
The Minister said that Ethiopia wants to work in partnership with Japan in implementing its industy policy which is aimed to increase productivity, capacitate the human capital, build instituions and realize effective technology transfer.
The Japanese delegation, for its part, expressed readiness to cooperate with Ethiopia in implementing the industry policy.
