Addis Ababa, December 30, 2020 (FBC) –Ethiopian Ambassador to Italy, Zenebu Tadesse, held discussion with Vito Rosario Petrocelli, President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Senate of Italy.
During the discussion focused on the current situation in Ethiopia, Ambassador Zenebu briefed Petrocelli about the attacks committed by TPLF group against the defence forces and the neighbouring Eritrea.
After completing the law enforcement operations in Tigray, the Government is now engaged in providing humanitarian aid and rehabilitating community members displaced due to the operation.
Banking, telecommunications, water and electricity services have resumed in the regional state, she said, adding utmost efforts are underway to repair damaged infrastructure.
Ethiopia and Italy have strong historical ties, Petrocelli said, adding his country supports the ongoing reforms in Ethiopia.
The law enforcement operation carried out in Tigray is totally a domestic affair, he said, adding his Government is ready to assist the humanitarian efforts in the region.
Petrocelli also expressed his plan to visit Ethiopia and strengthen development, tourism and economic cooperation with the Government, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
